Moscow is the heart of Russia, its capital, business, scientific, cultural and tourist center.
It was first mentioned in the chronicles in 1147. The city was founded by the prince of Suzdal, Yuri Dolgoruki.
The favorable geographical position at the crossing of important trade ways and in between the two rivers –
Oka and Volga – contributed to fast development and growth of the city, which is now the largest city in Russia.
Owing to the talent of many Russian and foreign architects Moscow is one of the most beautiful cities of the world.
Its exterior is that of the Moscow Kremlin, fabulous domes of Saint-Basil’s cathedral, of the rebuilt temple of
Christ the Savior, Novodevichi, Donskoi, Svyato-danilov monasteries, palaces and parks of Kolomenskoye, Kuskovo,
Ostankino, Vorobiovy Gory and Poklonnaya Gora.
